Schedule of Fees
Study of any Budo Art at the Kuroyama Budokai requires payment of TWO components:
Annual Membership Fees which comprise of registration with State and National governing bodies for each art and include insurance coverage; and
Training Fees which are paid at the start of each Term and contribute to cost of venue hire and other associated expenses to run the dojo.
Annual Membership Fees
Aikido
Membership to the Aikido Kenkyukai Canberra is required at the start of the calendar year or at the time of first joining (subject to any free trial periods). Annual fees for 2025 are:

$100 annual membership fee.
Iaido and/or Jodo
Membership to both Australian Kendo Renmei (AKR) and ACT Kendo Renmei (ACTKR) is required by the start of the financial year or at the time of first joining (subject to any free trial periods). Annual fees for 2024/25 financial year (1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025) are:

$55 AKR annual membership fee ($35 if under 18) plus

$25 ACTKR annual membership fee
Note: If the above AKR/ACTKR fees have been paid through other clubs or State Renmei they are not required to be paid again.
Kyudo
Membership to the Australian Kyudo Association (AKA) is required. This should be discussed at the Dojo with the Instructor.
Due date
Members whose Annual Fees are not received by start of the calendar/financial year as relevant may be ineligible to participate in regular training or seminars until such fees are paid, and may have a waiting period before they can undertake a grading or competition.
Training Fees
Kuroyama Budokai uses a four terms per year training schedule aligned to the starting dates of the ACT School Term. Training fees per Term for calendar year 2025 are:

Naginata $55
Term dates for 2025 are:
Term 1 Mon 3 Feb to Sun 13 Apr
Term 2 Mon 28 Apr to Sun 6 Jul
Term 3 Mon 21 Jul to Sun 28 Sep
Term 4 Mon 13 Oct to Sun 21 Dec
Between terms (ie school holidays) the Dojo MAY be open for practice at no cost however MAY be limited to supervised self study. This is at the discretion of the Dojo Cho (Manager) in discussion with Instructor(s).
